Hi,Below is a response from our FlexLm expert.' It seems that this customer is trying to use a new function which isintroduced after flexnet 11.6.1 by flexera. This new function is neededif the license file uses host id like 'VMWEHER=.' , 'VMWUUID=.' I don't think flexnet 11.6.1 recognize it.

Steps for Installation on Server Machine:. Install Xilinx ISE. As per the version of Xilinx ISE, we should download “License Management Tools Utilities” (This should be as per the version number like 13.2 or 13.3 or 14.1 which we are installing)Following link is FYR to download License Management Tools Utilities. Create a folder “Licensing” in Xilinx ISE destination and paste all files of License Management Tools in Licensing folder i.e.
Lmgrd.exe, lmtools.exe, lmutil.exe and xilinxd.exe. Then we need to note Computer NameFor Windows 7: Right click on My Computer – Properties – Computer Name: Kranthi-PC (For example).
Then we need to edit the Xilinx.lic license fileWe should edit two lines in license file. SERVER and VENDORSERVER Kranthi-PC FLEXID=9-6ECE671C 2100VENDOR xilinxd C:XilinxISE13.2Licensingxilinxd.exe port=2222Note: Explanation of above two lines“Kranthi-PC” is computer name, FLEXID=9-6ECE671C is dongle number and 2100 is default port number of XILINXC:XilinxISE13.2Licensingxilinxd.exe is path of xilinxd file which we have pasted earlier in Licensing folder and port=2222 is return port number. Then we need to install Flexnet driver of dongle, which we can find in Xilinx ISE Installation folder i.e. Steps for Installation on Server Machine:. No need to install software on server machine.

Just download License Management Tools Utilities in server machine, for example from below link. Open the Command prompt i.e. Cmd as Administrator. Navigate to /win32.o (for a 32-bit machine) Or /win64.o (for a 64-bit machine)We need to navigate to extracted directory from command prompt i.e. Using cmd console.
Run the command: installanchorservice.exe xilinxd.exe Vivado-Software (Creates a trusted storage on the machine). Run the command: xlicsrvrmgr.exe -cr request.xml (Creates a request.html file to generate the license)After running above command in some cases you may get MSVCR110.dll not found error. Please download Microsoft Visual C Redistributable and install it in server.Note: In-order to get XilinxLicense.xml file, just double click request.xml file. It will direct you to Xilinx Login, after logging in you can download XilinxLicense.xml file.
Place this file in win32.o or win64.o directory to execute next command. Run the command: xlicsrvrmgr.exe -p XilinxLicense.xml (Processes the received license file and saves to trusted storage). Now Create a “sample.lic” file (i.e. Create a new text file with name sample.lic) in the above directory i.e.
Win32.o or win64.o with the below three lines:SERVER USESERVERVENDOR xilinxdThis is how we need to type this file, hostname should be IP address of server & hostid should be MAC ID.
