Scenery: Orbx EU:ScotlandAircraft: Majestic Dash8 Q-400/Aerosoft AXE A319Arrival Airport:UK2000 EGPK(Prestwick)CTD: Faulting module:API.dll or g3d.dllCan anyone kindly check if they too are getting a CTD using this scenery flying the approach to Rwy 13 at EGPK where twice in different aircraft, I have had a CTD at around 3500 ft? Yesterday I had it happen with the Aerosoft AXE 319 which I think according to EventVwr threw up a g3d.dll faulting module; and just now with the Majestic Dash8 Q400, an API.dll faulting module. If someone much more knowledgeable than I has an idea what is causing this CTD, I'd be grateful. Thanks.Windows 10 Pro 64-bit FSX-SE. What is your VAS usage?

Running out of memory is fairly common with high settings, orbx region, and addon airports combined. Maybe try turning down your autogen setting to 'normal' or even 'sparse' and see if that solves it.similar to rupert i am unable to test your specific example since i don't have that particular airport.

I fly into uk2000 egnx and the england scenery pretty often without troubles but i do have fairly conservative autogen and traffic settings since my machine is a bit old.cheers-andy crosby. Hi Andy and RupertThanks, gents, for your most welcome inputs. Appreciated.Perhaps you guys can shed more light. Late last night, I went to the FTX Central 2 and saw that I needed 4 Service Packs for EU:England, and 2 SPs for EU:Scotland. I got the SPs, installed them, then today re-run the same flight which I had saved, and this time, lo and behold, no CTD.So, was it the fact that in the first instance there was a clash with UK2000's EGPK and Orbx EU:Scotland, which was then resolved in the second instance by applying those SPs?And one further question, when I just had the UK2000 EGPK(Prestwick) airport, all the aprons were fairly light and discernible in colour. Now, after applying those Orbx EU:Scotland SPs, the aprons all look black I can hardly tell is my Majestic 8-Q400 is on the tarmac.

Maybe it was a clash, maybe just something amiss with the earlier version of the orbx files. Hard to say for sure.not sure about the other issue.

Did you ensure that the airport layers are above the orbx stuff in your scenery library? The order might matter in this case.a while back i had some odd texture issues with my uk regions that i fixed by rebuilding the terrain.cfg file which was pretty easy to do, there are details outlined in the orbx support forums on that (search for 'texture morphing' bug on their forums.) hard to say if that is your problem either. Maybe you could post a screenshot.you might have better luck at the orbx forums or the uk2000 ones as it may be more likely to find someone using the same combination with both the region and that particular airport. Prestwick is on my list of ones i want to pick up eventually but i already blew my budget during the holidaysgood luckcheers-andy crosby. Did you ensure that the airport layers are above the orbx stuff in your scenery library? The order might matter in this case.Andy, thanks for taking time to respond. That's the bit I have no idea how to check/ rectify. After a while fiddling around, changing parking positions, I finally found a non-black surface to park the Dash8 on.

I had set the tarmac theme via Orbx FTX.Thanks for the suggestion of posting in the Orbx or UK2000 sceneries. I like Gary's output and being a British developer, I like to support his products. I have a range of his Xtreme Airports, and last sale just before Xmas had picked up a hatful. RickThe order in your scenery library is worth looking at.

Ftx

I have UK2000 airports at the very top and above the UK2000 Common Library (which must be below UK2000 airports AFAIK). I've then got all my ORBX FTX, followed by OLC.I hope I'm not stating the obvious but the way to check or adjust the scenery order is in FSX:SE / Settings / Scenery Library. I would recommend that you check the UK2000 Common Library is definitely below the airports and that your ORBX is above the default FSX layers.and yes - Gary's work is fantastic and well worth the investment.Hope this helps.Rupert.

Coming back after a long absence and the Orbx Handbook seems to no longer be available.Just installed the new version of FTX-Central FSX, now what should I do? I have FTX Global Base Pace and FTX Global Vector and the recommended Pilot's FS Global. My guess is those three first followed by Regions and Airports. Or does it not matter anymore and the new improved FTX Central will digest things in whatever order and place them in the correct place?I did look in the support forum, but that seems focused on things that are broken, not installing initially.Any advice would be appreciated. Hi William,I am not sure what it is you want to know so forgive me if I am to simplistic, I would buy Pacific Northwest Region it has lots of free airfields to fly from and to. The regions are much more detailed than the standard FSX. Then I would decide what you want to do, personally I only do bush flying i.e.

Autocad

Small planes such as the DHC Beaver flying into small airfields. If your interest is in jet airliners then you will need to decide which airfields' your plane can land at. If you need more information this friendly forum will give you more than you need.Best Regards. Thx Gollum, fear I wasn't clear. I used to use a lot of Orbx scenery and now have a brand new install of Windows10. I have FTX Central installed and am concerned about if load order matters. For example, should I load my copies of FTX Global Base Pace and FTX Global Vector and the recommended Pilot's FS Global and then Regions and Airport.

Or does it matter and the new FTX Central will sort it all out. I vaguely remember it used to matter.Hi William, the install order no longer matters.FTX Central will indeed sort it out, at least as far as regards Orbx products. Welcome back and happy flying!

Thx so much gentlemen.FTX Global Base PackFTX Global VectorTerrain MeshFTX Full Region PacksFTX Custom Scenery (Including Airports)FTX FreewareThis seems so reasonable. So far I've followed it except for the Terrain Mesh which I think is Pilot's FS Global which I've skipped as I'm not positive where I have it stashed.I have Tongas Fjords and thinking I'll load it at the very end, I'm very much interested in flying up in the area of Misty Mornings.

The new Milviz DHC-3 Otter really appeals to me.Surely this is posted somewhere and I just missed it? There used to be an ebook on this subject and more, probably still is but I did look. I have just purchased Just flights Real South England scenery and I wonder where in the scheme of the above this should be placed pleaseWelcome to the Orbx forums Pinkoo Bose! You'll probably get faster answers to technical questions if you post them in the appropriate Orbx Support Forum. Since this is a question about a 3rd party product, I'd ask in the FTX Compatibility Forum.I don't have Real South England, so I don't know what the product does.

(textures, vector data, custom objects?)In general, the scenery category with the higher precedence in your scenery library is what you will see.For example, say product 'A' is just textures and product 'B' has textures and custom objects. If you have 'A' in your scenery library as #5 and 'B' as #6, you will see the textures from 'A', but you will still see the objects from 'B'.If you have 'B' as #4 and 'A' is #5, you will see the textures and objects from 'B'. OK Thanks for that Nick and Matt.Looks like I was too hasty buying the JF product.I am really kicking myself now as I can see TE offering for South England - and am really impressed with the shots.so will be abandoning that the JF offering. Before buying this, TE England, I would like to know if it can be used with EU England, Wales, and Scotland (all of which I have). If it can, I will go ahead and buy this also. But then please what is the installation order? Where will TE be?

Above or below EU England in the scheme of things in the scenery order?I am rebuilding my system from scratch. And all I have installed at present is P3dv 4.4, FSUIC, ORBX Global base, vectors and trees.

I just want to stick to ORBX products now but want to know what order to install things.
